When it came to the art of amputation, few mastered this practice better than Dr. Robert Liston. Known as "The Fastest Knife in the West End," Liston was reputed to have been able to complete operations in mere seconds. Unfortunately, the recipients of these surgical flurries generally died minutes to hours later…but at least they caught a heck of a show!
